Tributes, Messaging & AI

Last updated 5 Sep 2026

What a Tribute holds

Text, photos, video, voice notes. Optionally a physical gift, a Reveal image shown as a hint before unlock, and a location and occasion.

Sending to several people? Each recipient can have a different message, a different gift and a different address.

Scheduling

Two ways: a specific date and time, or a duration from now — days, hours, minutes.

Everything is stored in UTC and displayed in your local time. If you or the recipient travel across time zones, the unlock moment does not change — it is a fixed point in time, not a clock reading.

Daylight saving: if the recipient is in a region that observes it, their displayed local time may shift by an hour. The underlying moment is unaffected.

⚠️ A Tribute is only scheduled once it is paid for. Until then it stays a draft, and drafts are deleted after 10 days. Check your Credit balance before scheduling anything time-sensitive.

This is the rule people most often misunderstand.

A Tribute enters "Unlocks Soon" 24 hours before it opens.

At that moment ownership passes to the recipient. You can still clear the Tribute off your own list, but you can no longer cancel it for them — it will unlock as scheduled.

⚠️ If there is any chance you will want to cancel, cancel early. The system is designed to be reliable about delivering, which is exactly what makes it unreliable about stopping.

You cannot edit a submitted Tribute. Cancel it and create a new one. Credits already used are not refunded.

What cancelling actually removes

Removed: the Tribute content, its scheduled delivery, the recipient's countdown.

Not removed: the Tribute Echo chat and its messages · a gift already made or shipped · anything whose ownership has already passed · the Credits spent.

If the recipient already knew, we tell them the Tribute was withdrawn. We do not tell them what it said, or why.

After unlock, a Tribute is kept for 12 months from the unlock date. Download anything you want to keep.

Anonymity

"Hide my name during the countdown" hides your name from the recipient, until the status reaches "Unlocks Soon" or "Ready to Open" — then your identity is revealed.

It does not hide you from us. We always know who sent every Tribute, and we disclose it to our safety team and to lawful authorities on request.

A recipient can refuse anonymous delivery. If they have set that preference, your name is shown regardless of your choice.

⚠️ Using anonymity to harass, threaten or frighten someone is a serious breach. We will identify you to the recipient and to the authorities where appropriate.

Receiving a Tribute

If you have an account: a notification arrives, and you see a sealed item with a countdown. You can share it, chat about it, react, add it to your calendar, or remove it from your list.

If you don't have one yet: you get an SMS, WhatsApp message or email telling you that someone has sent you something, where the details came from, and how to stop any further contact.

Every first-contact message includes an opt-out. Reply STOP, or email privacy@letshoraro.com. A suppression request is permanent and no sender can override it.

The Receiver Key

If the sender does not have a reliable number for you, they can issue a Receiver Key — a QR code.

The sender gives you the QR code themselves. We never send it. Install the app, choose receive a Tribute, scan the code, and the Tribute is claimed to your account.

⚠️ We cannot recover a lost key. It is single-use, tied to one Tribute, and cannot be regenerated. If it is lost and was never delivered, the Tribute cannot be claimed.

Chats, groups and Channels

Direct chats are between two people, with equal rights. Either of you can mute, block, report, or clear your own copy — clearing yours does not clear theirs.

Groups are created by any user. The creator cannot be removed or demoted by other admins. Every member sees every other member's phone number — bear that in mind before joining or adding someone.

Tribute Echo is created automatically when you send a Tribute. You are the creator, recipients are members, and the name is fixed to the Tribute's name. It is independent of the Tribute: cancelling one does not delete the other. A third party added to an Echo can talk, but cannot see or forward the Tribute.

Channels broadcast to unlimited followers, in the Pulse tab. Followers' identities and numbers are not visible to anyone.

⚠️ Channels are not end-to-end encrypted. They are public broadcasts, visible to us and proactively moderated. The owner is responsible for everything published, including by admins they appoint.

Chat messages are deleted after 12 months. Tribute Echo chats are deleted 12 months from the unlock date. This is deliberate — the service is not a backup. Export anything that matters.

Auto-Prompt and AI

An Auto-Prompt is an instruction you write now, which an AI executes at a future time. The output goes to a chat, a Channel, or verified email addresses.

What makes this risky

  • Nobody reviews the output before it is delivered — not you, not us.
  • The world may have changed between writing and execution. An instruction that made sense in 2026 may produce something inappropriate in 2031.
  • The model itself will have changed, and may behave differently.

Test your instruction first with a near-term execution addressed to yourself. Keep instructions specific and self-contained. Do not schedule unreviewed AI output to a sensitive audience.

What we don't promise

AI output can be factually wrong — including confidently wrong — outdated, biased, or incoherent. It differs every time, even from the same instruction.

Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions.

💙 If you are grieving or struggling, please talk to someone qualified — not an AI feature.

Email destinations and Credits

New addresses are unverified and receive nothing until the owner confirms. Every Auto-Prompt email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is permanent — re-adding the address does not override it.

AI features cost Credits, shown in the app before you confirm. A failed execution on our side is refunded and retried once. Not liking the output is not a service failure and is not refunded.
